2018 Schedule
6-1, 1st in Big 12

Seth Walder ESPN Analytics

The Pac-12 has just a 1 in 20 shot at putting a team in the playoff. Meanwhile, the SEC is still the most likely conference to get two teams in, but that number has dropped quite a bit over last few weeks.

Strength of Record top 10: strictly a measure a accomplishment this season. Achieving a 6-1 record with LSU's schedule was more difficult than going undefeated thus far with Clemson or Alabama's schedule.

Texas coach Tom Herman said quarterback Sam Ehlinger has an AC sprain in his throwing shoulder. An MRI is needed, but if it turns out there's no ligament damage, Herman said Ehlinger could be throwing by the end of next week. If that's the case, Ehlinger could start Texas' next game -- Oct. 27 vs. Oklahoma State after an perfectly-timed off week.

Despite losing starting QB Sam Ehlinger to a shoulder injury, the Longhorns were able to stand tall, get a solid relief effort from Shane Buechele and a strong defensive performance to leave their Big 12 title game hopes intact headed into a well-timed off week.
