Vontaze Burfict is doubtful to return with a hip injury. It has not been a good night for him or the rest of the Bengals' defense, to say the least, and he missed several tackles against the Chiefs.

Bengals trail the Chiefs 24-7 after one half, and it feels like even more. The Bengals look confuse on defense and can't match the Chiefs' speed. Being down two defensive starters doesn't help. The Bengals have missed tackles all night and their defense looked mostly inept for the half, while the offense couldn't keep pace with Kansas City. The Bengals would have to find some turnover magic from the beginning of the season to be able to keep up and turn this thing around.

Bengals safety Shawn Williams is active tonight after going through concussion protocol this week. Williams went through an extensive pre-game workout today, but it's unclear when he was given the go-ahead to play. Josh Malone is a surprise healthy scratch, and since the Bengals waived Auden Tate earlier in the week, they'll go with five active receivers. Malone has rarely been used this season. Other inactives: Giovani Bernard (knee/toe), Darqueze Dennard (shoulder), Billy Price (foot), Tyler Kroft (foot), Nick Vigil (knee) and Josh Tupou. John Ross returns from a groin injury and is listed as a starter. Jordan Evans will start for Vigil.

Best bets for Bengals-Chiefs

ESPN's Vegas experts explain where the betting value lies in this matchup between two teams at the top of their divisions.

Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict was fined $112,000 following their game against Pittsburgh for plays involving hits to Antonio Brown (11:19 remaining in the 3rd quarter) and James Conner (5:17 remaining in the 3rd quarter), per source.

Five Bengals have been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs: Giovani Bernard, Darqueze Dennard, Tyler Kroft, Billy Price and Nick Vigil. The only questionable player is Shawn Williams, who was listed as a full participant in Friday's walkthrough. It's unclear if he's passed through concussion protocol or not since Friday practices do not involve contact. CJ Uzomah, John Ross, Vincent Rey, Jordan Evans, Andy Dalton, Carlos Dunlap, Clayton Fejedelem and Cordy Glenn were all full participants and would be listed as probable if that designation still existed. So John Ross will return on Sunday.

Giovani Bernard, Darqueze Dennard, Tyler Kroft, Billy Price and Nick Vigil didn't practice. Shawn Williams moved to the next phase of concussion protocol and was able to practice in a limited capacity. CJ Uzomah and Vinny Rey were also limited, as was AJ Green for non-injury reasons that caused him to come to practice late. Andy Dalton, Jordan Evans, Carlos Dunlap, Clayton Fejedelem, Cordy Glenn, Cedric Ogbuehi and John Ross practiced fully

Bengals C Billy Price is out of the walking boot, but not in the clear yet or close to playing right now. He's been rehabbing with the other injured players during practice. Price told reporters earlier in the month that he had a partially torn ligament in his right foot, and the medical staff is being cautious so he doesn't make it worse. Price said his frustration level has gotten higher simply because he wants to be back on the field after getting injured in Week 2. He declined to say what the timetable looked like for his return at this point. "I have my own personal goal, but my personal goal and what the medical staff says are two different things," he said. "I'm going to follow what they say and just take it a day at a time."

The Bengals have a long injury list this week and Andy Dalton (back) is a surprise addition, although he practiced fully, as did John Ross (groin). Giovani Bernard (knee/toe), Darqueze Dennard (sternoclavicular), Tyler Kroft (foot), Billy Price (foot), Nick Vigil (knee), Shawn Williams (concussion) did not practice. Jordan Evans (hamstring), Carlos Dunlap (buttock), Clayton Fejedelem (thigh), Cordy Glenn (ankle), Vincent Rey (hamstring), C.J. Uzomah (shoulder) were limited.
