Riddick on Jaguars: 'They flat out quit' (0:59)

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Tonight's loss at Tennessee guarantees the Jaguars (4-9) will finish with a losing record for the ninth time in the last 11 seasons. The Jaguars haven't had back-to-back winning seasons since 2004-05 and haven't made the playoffs in consecutive seasons since 1996-99.

Believe it or not, the Jaguars' 30-9 loss to Tennessee didn't actually eliminate them from playoff contention. That will happen if Baltimore beats Kansas City, per ESPN Stats & Information.

Jaguars LB Telvin Smith called the the 30-9 loss to the Titans embarrassing. "They bit off our confidence and ran with it," he said. "They better enjoy it while they got it."

There's something about prime time in Nashville that brings out the worst in the Jaguars. They managed just 98 yards of total offense in the first half and trail the Titans 16-2. Tennessee has out-gained the Jaguars 243-98 and that includes a 99-yard TD run by Derrick Henry. That's right, Henry has more yards on one run than the Jaguars have as a team. It's been that kind of season for the Jaguars.

Colts' Reich 'sure thought' clock should've halted

The Indianapolis Colts thought tight end Erik Swoope got out of bounds and the clock should have been stopped on the final play of their 6-0 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Jaguars LB Myles Jack said the Colts going for it on fourth down three times -- and failing to convert -- was like playing the lottery. "That's what they did and they lost," Jack said. "We made the plays that we needed to make and I think prior weeks we weren't getting those stops that we needed and we got them today."

Jaguars show up on defense, shut down Luck, Colts 6-0

Jalen Ramsey and the Jacksonville Jaguars delivered one of the most dominant defensive performances in franchise history, carrying the team to a 6-0 victory against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

Jaguars snap seven-game losing streak with a 6-0 victory over the Colts. The 2017 defense showed up: Sacked Andrew Luck three times, forced two turnovers, and didn't allow Luck to throw a TD pass for the first time all season. Luck had thrown for at least three TDs in eight games in a row. Jaguars QB Cody Kessler throws for 150 yards in his starting debut and picks up the first victory of his career as a starter (1-8).

Michael DiRocco ESPN Staff Writer

The Cody Kessler era in Jacksonville begins with 108 yards of total offense and a 3-0 lead over the Colts. Kessler has completed 8-of-12 passes for 65 yards and run three times for 13 yards. The Jaguars defense has held the Colts to 2.6 yards per play, 17 yards rushing, and 4-for-11 on third down. It's clear the defense has figured something out against the Colts because they've held them scoreless for 60 minutes of football -- the second half of the game on Nov. 11 and the first half today.

Jaguars say they evaluated QB Cody Kessler for a concussion but he has been cleared to return.

Ben Fawkes ESPN Staff Writer

Jacksonville is 6-0-1 ATS in the past seven meetings with the Colts. The Jaguars are 4.5-point underdogs today.

Notable lineup changes today for the Jaguars: Ronnie Harrison will start in place of SS Barry Church, Marcell Dareus starts in place of DT Malik Jackson, Abry Jones starts in place of Dareus at NT, and Patrick Omameh will start at LG instead of Chris Reed.
